A day like today makes me appreciate all the wonderful weather we have had up till this point ... and air conditioning!

St. Vincent de Paul came on Saturday to Dave’s dad’s house to pick up the furniture and household items no one wanted.  We were the last stop - and the house does not have air conditioning.  We weeded the front beds to get out of the house.  Dave also dug up some surprise lilies and peonies.

I paid for the library book I “ruined” today.  The person at the desk looked at the book and couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it till she read the slip.  She said… it looks as if there was water damage.  I guess I was the first person to have checked out the book and we all like keeping things looking brand new!

Kate ... what is the story on where Amy will be teaching ... Charter School?

Yes, 3rd grade charter school—a five minute walk from her house.  But it’s a long day 7:45 - 4:15, so she won’t save any time by a shorter commute.  She is looking forward to a new, hopefully better, situation.  I think they start Aug. 24.

Susan, can you get to this point, and read the weblog?  I logged out, and then was able to log in as you.  So I wonder if there is a problem at your end?  I will try to find your email address and contact you in awhile.  Right now I am trying to get the girls fed before Taylor comes by after work to pick them up!

Strange it is working now. these sure are the dog days of summer. I am so sorry about Joe’s bad manners (or faux pee) but Ella certainly enjoyed it. I have a copy of the three billy goats Gruff that you may have. I found it after you left.

Thanks for the tour Susan, sort of funny that you were outside at the same time that we were driving past!  That’s a great book - too bad you really don’t have troll victims under that mound in your front yard.  It would make a wonderful tourist attraction!

Maureen I put some wine bottles in your gazebo. This winter I plan to make stepping stones. I hope I can find the directions.
