Sometimes after reading a book the movie is so disappointing but in this instance the movie editor did a super job. I look forward to seeing the others when they come out. I have read all three books the girl…and found them to be absorbing mysteries. The author Steig larson died at an early age from a heart attack so a fourth book may not happen(there exists an outline and his girlfriend might end up fleshing it out. I do not like violence and close my eyes during that part. I rely on my friends to tell me when to look. With books I just skim the parts that are violent. All three books had sections when skimming was necesssary.

The Steig books are good, very dark and Scandinavian (he was Swedish). I actually like the Jo Nesbo books even better (he is Norwegian) and like the Steig books, the translations make for a bit slower reading. I think one reason I enjoy Nesbo is the setting in Norway, it’s fun to think back to the places where the book takes place.
We watched Shutter Island last week.
Hello from White Bear Lake, Minnesota! Yesterday we took the girls to the Mall of America, their first time to go. The big draw for them was the American Girl store there - they had saved $ to spend and we also ate lunch in the bistro they have. What a money maker that corporation has going!! Today we are going to the Minnesota History Center and possibly Fort Snelling and to the National Cemetery on the grounds.

Haven’t seen that movie ... doesn’t sound like I would like it (brutal) but I am looking for recommendations. Our netflix list is rather depleted.
