Reporting in

Glad that Kate and CarolFay had nice travels - such cute news about the wee ones Kate!  What kind of azalea do you have that is still blossoming?! (And how appropriate your description is what with my niece becoming a sweet bride this Sunday)  Maureen, I had thought I’d get over to preview your floors today, but my errands took longer than planned and I didn’t have any time left over!  I bet your house looks fantastic.

I have been pretty busy outside, trying to get things accomplished before we leave for Minnesota.  We are leaving real early Friday morning - so I don’t know if I will make it over to CC at your house CarolFay.  We are staying in Rochester - the wedding is in the little town of Byron 4 miles west of there, and then the reception is at the Rochester Art Center.  We are driving up to the cities on Monday to see Steve’s folks - a bit open ended about our return day right now.  There are so many friends we could also visit in the Twin Cities, and then head farther north to Pine City and find more to see.

I haven’t seen the fox again since last week, but at least I got a good picture of him.  He seemed very bold actually, just stood by our back patio and stared back at me when I took his picture.

I have the kind my mother gave me—(no idea!)

I noticed that poetically lovely azalea as I walked by the other day. I don’t have any azaleas. Maybe I should head to Lowe’s and see if they have any. It is so greedy of me but if I see a plant I don’t have and I like it I think I should buy it. My garden is actually starting to run out of room for new plants. I will find spaces somewhere.

Today our fellow came and patched the dry wall above the mantle. Tomorrow he will return and continue the job. He will probably do some other things for us too.

It is great having John here. Unfortunately I still have the “I am responsible” feeling. He stayed out late several nights and I wanted to give the getting enough sleep lecture followed by the eating right, working hard, exercising etc lectures. It is hard to just chill.

I never thought I would live to hear Susan say that she was running out of room in her garden!  Hard to believe after all the rain that now I am thinking of watering some of the flowers.

We are going to spend the night with Rachel and take her to her triathlon and out to lunch for her birthday. Then home a day and head to Akron and Roanoke for a visit with Kevin and Jen.

And then ... maybe get my house organized and cleaned!

yummylicious deserts thanks CF

M: Now you know why I am starting to knock down shrubs in the way back. I need more planting room. Our (the whole neighborhood) garbage was not picked up today. Someone knocked at my door and asked if I was actually throwing away the pool steps. I thought I would find a use for them but I was wrong. I told him have at it and he was so pleased.

Our mantle project is going on its second day and he is not quite finished. He will return on Tuesday to paint the wall. If anyone wants to stop by and vote on a color you may. Of course I have already decided on Riverbed which is darker than khaki. The boys voted for Khaki but my vote counts more.
