Our festivities
We had an uneventful Christmas celebration (compared to Kate!) - very nice and full of good food, nice gifts (lots of DVD’s to watch!!!), crackling fire, meaningful church service, and togetherness! Everyone stayed healthy too! Also last week our overnight with the girls at the Staybridge Suites was alot of fun. Steve flew up to visit his folks yesterday and will be back tomorrow night - I talked to him yesterday and he said he’s having a great time and no weather problems. Soon it’s time to start putting decorations away, taking down Snow Village etc - our tree still smells so good and hasn’t started to drop needles yet, but we will likely take it down this coming weekend. Well, it’s back to photo editing for me!! Have lots of great pics from the past month to work with.

Unanswered questions: What fell on you Kate? Who was visiting you?
Answers to questions: Christmas in Cincinnati was very nice - and very relaxing for Rachel. Rachel found a 10:30 “midnight” Mass, we brought The Grinch tape and The Night Before Christmas to continue our Christmas Eve traditions. Nick came over after breakfast and was a good sport for the games - Scrabble, Szyggy, Othello, and Quarto.Rachel went to his families gathering the day after Christmas.
Kate: surgery is to repair my rotator cuff. I am playing with my meds now to see how few I can take and how far apart without having pain.

Just when I was going for the philosophy of gift giving in The Grinch - it isn’t about the tags, ribbons, packages, and boxes ... the priest at Mass said that every time we give a gift to someone, we give it to Jesus since Christ is in each of us!
Good thing we aren’t celebrating until this weekend - gives me time to shop!
We did give Rachel some “presents”. Carol - she loved the cranium game (and thanks you!), also she liked the crossword puzzles and Ken Ken we cut out of the paper and a craft that we bought for her to use at work at the Mass Ave Toy Store.

It was a little table top ornament stand. The scab gets smaller every day. Niece Rebecca, 4 yr old son, Rafael, and new husband, James—who is on the Narcotics squad of the Dallas Police Force, but a kind, gentle, sweet guy. They were hoping for snow here, and ended up getting snow in Dallas before they came!

Fortunately we didn’t have any of Kate’s brand of excitement. Shana stayed at Kara’s and they came over each evening. I went with the girls to get nails done, they had pedicures and I got cool acrylic nails. Shana made Moroccan chicken for Christmas Eve, quite a tasty stew with apricot jam in it. We had an appetizer dinner the next evening. I got a Ninetendo DS with two Brain Age games. I had mentioned it a year ago and Kara remembered it. Colts game was a downer ;but no big deal.
