How was last night? Where is next CC?
Today is my parent’s 60th anniversary. Nancy and I are treating them to two nights in Chicago this Summer. Nancy also decided we will treat Eddie and Elliott to something, in Chicago, also this summer, for both their 60th birthdays. Carol, are you adjusting to being back home? At least the weather is milder than when you left. Maureen, I hope the weather is ok for your trip to Ohio. I’m sorry I missed info about Kate and Carols trips ( even though you both post on the web)/

Carol - We will have to coordinate our trips to Cleveland. I am sure we passed each other on Sunday. We left Akron around noon.
My sister is going to wear herself out. She didn’t take us up on our offer to bring a meal. She ended up fixing Friday night dinner, Saturday dinner and Sunday brunch - and transporting them all up to my Dad’s so we could eat as a family. I wish I lived in Akron so that I could be active in my Dad’s care.

I feel left out when my parents are always celebrating with my sister and her family. My Mom always says we will celebrate when we see each other but It bothers me. An example my sister just took my parents out for their 6oth with her husband and Josh. I won’t see them until Passover. With Elliott’s parents both Elliott and Jackie ( the two children) live near by so both families will help with the transition of moving to Morningside after helping clean out the house and sell it.

Kate - how was your trip to the doctor?
CarolFay - you do miss out on both celebrations and care taking. I feel that my sister is the one - and rightly so - making decisions since she is involved in my Dad’s care. Still can’t help though to feel on the outside!

She was not concerned—just zapped it, no biopsy unless it comes back. Next time I will have everyone look at it and avoid a trip to the doctor. But thank you, Susan, for reminding me it is only money.

Even though I only have a $10 copay I often avoid going to the doctor until I have several things wrong. It is not really just the money it is the time and avoiding any bad news. St. Vincent’s has a skin screening date every once in a while and I go to that and drag Bill. It is quick and free. The last time Bill was told to have several on his bald head zapped. Apparently they were precancers that need to come off or they may turn into something cancerous. My moles have never been too interesting but I was told to wear long sleeve shirts when I am outdoorssd.
I almost had a third dog(which Bill was protesting). A little terrier walked into our yard with no tags. I was afraid he would get hit by a car. I put him on a leash and took him for a walk with my dogs hoping to see someone looking for him. When I didn’t I came home and made a “found dog” sign. As I walked him up to 79th and Ditch to post it a man drove up and said he was looking for that dog. He said his daughter was bawling her eyes out.
Carol Fay it would be good to call and let us know when you are not coming. We get concerned when you indicate that you will attend and then don’t. I had to eat the extra tiramisu the next day. I drank the extra coffee as iced coffee(YUMMMM)

Saw Elliot walking the dog. We chatted a bit about his subbing. It really sounds as if he is content with subbing. It is so fortunate that all has worked out well. I am happy for him.

We’re back from Cleveland - it was 40 there when it was 60 here. They are a block from Lake Erie, and the ice was breaking up and floating so it looked very pretty along the beach. Loved the apartment and neighborhood -old and grand - walking distance to little restaurants, shops etc and about 10 min from downtown. We will enjoy visiting there I think. Drive takes about exactly 5 hours. We left here at 1 on Sunday so I suppose we did pass by each other Maureen!

Ok Sue! You could have saved me some tiramisu!!LOL!I can’t wait for my three day weekend to start at 4:30 today! I’m going to the Symphony Happy Hour today. I have a full schedule for the three days, of course! Elliott told me about your visit, Sue!

Missed you CarolFay, hope you can make next time. It will be at my house either Wed 3/24 or Thurs 3/25 - I am not certain yet. I will post it as soon as I know. I am fine from jet lag - took a few days I guess, and the mild weather helped!
We are driving up to Cleveland tomorrow after church with a load of stuff for Matthew and Davie that didn’t go on the moving van. They left it in our basement (when we were in Hawaii)and thought we wouldn’t notice. Ha! No such luck. So Hatfield Van Lines to the rescue. We’ll be back on Wednesday. It will be fun to see their new place and explore Cleveland a little bit.
If anyone is interested, the rest of our Hawaii pictures are on the Picasa Web album. The link I put on the post before should still work to click on.
