The sale was fine. I managed to save around $135 from the landfill. My friend Linda came over at 10:00 and stayed all day to keep me company so the day really flew by. It was great to bew outside all day. Unfortunately I have barely managed to skim the surface of my excess “treasures” but there is always next spring. I must continue to declutter. I still have the salmon colored sofa bed which I will try to sell on craigslist. As part of the spirit and place festival this afternoon I went to a PFLAGG meeting. It was interesting and kinda cool. I may go again although it means missing football. Jill Bolte Taylor will be speaking on Nov 14th and I plan to attend that.

Home from Hawaii - have been up for over 30 hours and am fading fast. Dave walked into a lava rock - a 3 inch slice and then a gouge - goes to the dr. tomorrow (Tues) since it is still bleeding. I guess we should have gone to a clinic there but the steri strips seemed to work in all but one place.

Well, aloha! Wow, that’s awful about Dave’s injury. Sounds like a good idea to see a doctor. Just reading about you being up for 30 hours makes me have sympathy pains for you. It’s something that nearly makes a person want to give up overseas travel - no way around it, and something I never get used to.

welcome back. Is Dave up to date on tetanus shots? Glad your back in time for the great weather. Tomorrow my dogs get tooth work done.

He is up on his tetanus shot now. The dr. also gave him a prescription for antibiotics - apparently lava rock can have some microorganisms on it - but what doesn’t? He said he liked the way it was healing - must have been how nicely I put the steristrips on it.

Glad to hear Dave will recover!! I’m sure your mind is full of everything you saw and did over the past 10 days on the islands. It’s like any place that you go – you can never quite see or do everything that is available. You had a sample platter! I like all the islands we have been to – but have to say, I wouldn’t go that far to only have a “beach vacation”. Plenty of beautiful spots for that without the loooonnng plane ride. I love the history of the islands, seeing the visible reminders of the natives and their descendents who arrived in those rafts and catamarans 1700 years ago. For instance, I love Honolulu for the “old” and the “new” that can be experienced there. I love the contrast of city and then the empty beaches that are within a short drive. If I had to choose my favorite beach between those on the Big Island, Kauai and Oahu – hands down it would be the North Shore of Oahu. Nothing like it on the other two islands. Second favorite spot would be Waimea Canyon on Kauai. And third, the unbelievably variety you get on the Big Island.

Sorry about Dave but I’m happy he went to a Dr. and that you had a good trip. I really enjoyed the Holiday Mart this year, at the fairgrounds. my big trip will be to Columbus Ohio for the winter fair.
