Flowers
I went to the Blind School’s plant sale - I believe they don’t have as much as they did last year. Sullivans has some and so does Habig’s but neither has their full inventory. Don’t they know and don’t the flowers know that we want to start planting now? Who cares about the frost warning.
Marie had a productive visit to Susan’s house.
The bidding war has started for my wood floors ... Brown’s and Blakeley’s both gave me bids. I told Blakeley’s that we were going with another company whose bid was lower. Lo and behold - they lowered their bid! I told them - quality of work being the same - we were going with the company that gave us the low bid to begin with. What a game!
Enjoy the beautiful weather.

Previous entry: Carol Faye, you are next! May 6th
Just noticed a typo in my original post ...delete the first “don’t”.
The installer for Brown’s came out - at my request - to give me his opinion on laying floor around the built in bookcases vs being able to take them out and put them back. So I got to see him (and his butt crack). Other than the smell of cigarette smoke, he seems to be capable. Brown’s is working up the final bid. I’ll have them install it after May 15th - my sister in law may be stopping overnight on the way to see her Mom in WVA and she has 2 dogs.

I went to the ISBVI yesterday. This is my 5th year to go and every year they have some of the same things, but new things too. I always get my dragon wing begonias there, and moonflower vine. They usually have newly introduced hosta - this year I got a “Paul’s Pride”. Got some Mexican Sunflowers too, and a new variety of sedum. Didn’t get nearly as much as I usually have due to the fact that I will be gone nearly all of August and I won’t be around to enjoy things! I am doing alot more flowers from seed. I’d rather spend my money on our trip!
When did you tell Brown’s you want to start your project Maureen?
