All is Quiet - Too Quiet
Hope everyone had enjoyable visits with family and friends over the past several days. Kevin did not make it out of Roanoke even though there were 30 seats open - fog in Charlotte prevented planes from landing or taking off. Jen drove to Roanoke, picked Kevin up and then they drove to Newport News to be with her family. Everyone (except perhaps Jen’s family) was disappointed.
After the 4.5 mile Drumstick Dash, showers and lunch we headed to Warsaw where we had a good visit and good food. I brought the grace that the “children” in the family wrote with my Mom years ago - spelling out Thanksgiving Day. I choked up when I read the lines my Mom came up with -America and what it is and could be, the Young people of all ages who are challenged to make our world a better place. Everyone left there Friday by early afternoon. We had Dave’s side of the family up Friday night for pizza and salad. Rachel left Saturday after a pumpkin pancake breakfast and now the house is quiet and activity level is low.

Sorry to hear that Kevin (was Jen planning to come also?) didn’t make it, always a disappointment when someone is missing from the group. How sweet to read that table grace, and what a charming idea your mother had. Her presence was felt by everyone I’m sure. Hope the treatment works for your dad, Maureen.
We had a nice feast here. I guess we link hands with the past by using silver that was Steve’s grandparent’s, dishes that were my grandparents, crystal goblets that were Steve’s folks, a compote that my mom had, water goblets from my Great Aunt Olga, and a silver serving spoon that was my Great-Grandmother’s.
Tomorrow after church we will have a birthday brunch here to celebrate Delaney’s 11th (11/30) and my 59th (12/1). So I guess that about wraps up this festive time!!

It seems like your sister made the right choice although if he had stroked the judgment might have been different. sorry Kevin and friend could not make it.
We played lots of bridge with the Blairs. Bill knocked a picture off their wall and broke a frame. URG. Bill and I went to visit a friend of my mother was like an aunt to me. At 95 she gave up driving when she broke her hip six months ago. She says that she now travels every evening when she watches the TV travel channels. She still lives in her independent condo and her daughter lives nearby. I was glad we visited.

We had a nice Thanksgiving, even though Bobby was missing. It was at Jackie’s house. Matt was there and Cory came after the rest of us were done eating. The highlight of Thanksgiving Day was when I called my sister and My nephew, Josh, talked to me for 15 minutes!! He never like to talk on the phone but he sure had a lot to say to me! I was thrilled. I think going to Kindergarten may have helped to mature him !

My sister suspected that my Dad had a blood clot prior to bringing him to Thanksgiving but felt that spending Thanksgiving with the family was more important than spending it in the ER. At 83 with his health history given the choice ... So Saturday she took him to the ER where he was admitted with a blood clot. They will put some sort of filter in his leg to prevent the clot from going to his lungs.
